You are unlikely to find reliable information outside peer reviewd scientific literature. Be careful.
You seem to dismiss the collective work of Egyptologists, Archeologists, Forensic Engineers, and Anthropologists as not "serious research". Why?
has anyone here done any serious research on the pyramids of egypt and others???
it has been said that these objects were roughly made around 2500-3000 bce (the 3 at giza).
other people have stated they are much older.

A reputable encyclopedea will probably give you a good idea of the scientific consensus.
probably a dumb question, but what is the proper way to write "...in jehovah's witness literature.
"...in jehovah's witness' literature.".
"...in the literature of jehovah's witnesses.".
Thanks for the help guys! Spelling/grammer has never been my thing...

Probably a dumb question, but what is the proper way to write "...in Jehovah's Witness literature." ?
"...in Jehovah's Witnesses literature."

"...in the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses."
Thanks!
in my previous post, i mentioned i am now out but wanted to go to the branch meeting anyway.
i am so thank ful i did!
if there was any lingering doubt that i was making the right decision, tony's rants gave me total clarity.
"...it needs addressing... It's the 'metro sexual' look... that's the tight suit jacket and the tight pants, better known as 'tight pants'. And they are tight, I mean tight, all the way down to the ankle. And that is not modest brothers. No. It's not appropriate. It's not sound of mind.
I was proud of one circuit overseer who told me... one of these fella's shows up for his circuit overseer's visit and wants to go out in the ministry and work with him door-to-door, and he's wearing tight pants. And the circuit overseer was man enough - spiritual man enough - to say: "No, I'm not going door-to-door with you. Not with that dress-up. Inappropriate." So, a lot to think about. And, you elders out there listening in, you be kind now, you always want to try to imitate christ jesus. You be spiritual man enough to tell these young fella's: "you don't go out in the ministry looking like that. Not in this organization.
And frankly, I have asked sister after sister: "what do you think of this? Do you find that appealing, attractive? You know, I'm just curious, 'cause I'm not a woman." And you know what? I haven't met one yet that thought they look good.
And like I've been telling them, and others, and this is a FACT, the homosexuals that are designing theses clothes - they like you in tight pants."

i'm just curious speaking from a person who has stopped going to meetings.
i have heard reports from inactive ones (or from ones who the elders suspect of going to the dark side) of having so many visits from elders (cong members) that it got to the point of harassment.
surprisingly i have to say from personal experience and from numerous others that i have spoken to that the exact opposite has been the case.
For six months after we started missing meetings absolutely NO ONE tried to contact us. Keep in mind that we never spoke our mind to anyone – so no one could have known why we weren’t at the meetings.
Then, finally, two elders stopped by. Neither of them had ever conversed with us before, literally. And guess why they came. CO’s visit.
Have you ever had an elderly person die at your Kingdom Hall during a meeting? I’ve seen it TWICE. On both occasions no one noticed until it came time for the song. Everyone stands up, except sister dead. There’s a slight kerfuffle in the rows around her. Brother first-aid lays her on the ground between the chairs. What does everyone else do?? Keep singing. Then the Watchtower starts. No acknowledgment at all of the fire truck that’s shown up or the paramedics awkwardly pushing down the row. Literally no disruption. That should give you some idea of just how close these ‘friends’ are, #not.
i'm sure i read a thread here about the new congregation accounting procedures.
i ask because i handle the accounts in our cong and in our part of the world the new accounting system has just arrived whereby local congs do not have their own account any longer, but all funds outside of basic monthly costs is forwarded to an account controlled by the org.
this is causing huge confusion in our cong as we have to work out how much we need to keep back for monthly costs and the new idea is that you send all your extra cash to the org and if you need it back you can ask for it but we don't know how easy or hard it would be to do that.
I can confirm this for Canada. I was an accounts servant until last year. Extra funds are transferred to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and recorded on page two of the report as “funds on deposit with Watchtower”. In our case, it amounted to nearly 40k at one point. That money was returned to the congregation for a renovation project.
jws have long ascribed billions of years to the age of the earth, yet only thousands to the length of the creative days (see 2014 awake!
on creation).
what game are they playing??
This is outrageous! JWs are so smug about NOT being creationists. This has to be among their most blatant lies.
